This is my first game review... I played this game for 1 hour and 40 minutes... and honestly - I found it both good... and boring. Read article until the end, because I'll tell you whether this game can be risky for your device or not.
Hey players, I'm Zen, and today we're going to talk about the Arknights Endfield mobile game. I'm doing this review as an Indian mobile gamer and new RPG player, and this review is going to be completely honest and practical – no hype, just straight talk.
GAME BASIC INFO
Arknights Endfield is a 3D action role-playing game that launched globally on January 22, 2026. The game is available on
👉iOS
👉PC
👉PS5.
The game is free-to-play, with optional in-app purchases—as is the case with almost every game these days.
STORY & WORLD
The story of the game is set on a moon named Talos-II – which is an alien-type, dangerous and unexplored planet. There are jungles, mountains, mysteries, and dangers everywhere. You play the role of the Endministrator, the leader of a company named Endfield Industries. On this planet there are strange and terrifying creatures, which are called Aggeloi in the game, and there is a corruptive force called Blight, which is slowly destroying the world.
MY EXPERIENCE ON THE STORY
The concept is honestly quite strong, but my experience was a bit mixed. I found the story slow, the dialogues too long, and the cutscenes too long. I played the game for about 1 hour and 40 minutes, but honestly, I didn't enjoy it much and got a bit bored, so I didn't continue.
GAMEPLAY – COMBAT
Gameplay-wise, it's a real-time 3D action RPG.
You
👉 control a team of up to 4 characters
👉 can switch characters mid-fight
👉 and use skills and combo attacks.
Combat is smooth and flashy, and the skills look quite stylish. But over time, I found the gameplay to be a bit repetitive and complicated.
BASE BUILDING & EXPLORATION
A unique part of this game is its base-building and automation system. You have to gather resources, build an Automated Industry Complex (AIC), and expand and defend your civilization. Hardcore RPG and strategy players will find this system deep and rewarding. But if you're completely new to the RPG genre, like me, it can all feel overwhelming and distracting—as it did to me.
CONTROLS & UI
Speaking of controls, they're smooth and easy to use. I played the game on an Android tablet, so I didn't encounter any major issues. However, on a mobile screen, the buttons may seem a bit small, and the menus can be a bit confusing—especially for new players.
GRAPHICS & PERFORMANCE
The game is built with the Unity Engine, and the graphics are honestly next-level — even on Android. The characters, environments, and lighting feel quite polished. I played the game on low graphics, yet the visuals were strong and stable. Animations are smooth, and the effects and lighting feel slightly better than average. Visuals are decent at 30-60 fps on a mid-range device, but the experience is perhaps even crisper on a flagship. I liked the graphics because they have an anime art-style, and I love anime.
REASON FOR DEVICE & LOW GRAPHICS
I played this game on a Xiaomi Pad 7, which has a Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 processor and an Adreno 732 GPU. This is a mid-range but powerful chipset. I could technically play the game on medium graphics, but this game is new, demanding, and optimized for cross-platform. When I tried to select medium graphics, the game displayed a warning—risk of lag, overheating, and high battery consumption. So, I chose low graphics because I didn't want to take any risks. Yes, the graphics seemed a bit pixelated, perhaps my screen resolution is high, and don't forget, I was playing on low graphics.
PERFORMANCE EXPERIENCE
I haven't tested it, but I don't think this game will run on a low-end device! Even after playing for about 1 hour and 40 minutes, I didn't encounter any crashes, bugs, or glitches, and there was no heating issue. Yes, I did notice a visual glitch. The ping was between 100–200 ms, but the game was playable.
MUSIC & SOUND
The game's music is atmospheric and immersive, giving off pure sci-fi vibes. I muted the music, but that doesn't mean it was bad. I found the sound effects quite good—footsteps, environment sounds, and combat audio were quite satisfying.
💰 PAY-TO-WIN?
This game doesn't feel fully pay-to-win, but it certainly gives the feeling that paying money will speed up progress. The gacha system is a bit grindy, and free players will need to be patient.
My Experience
As an Indian mobile player, rarely players play role-playing games in India. And I have also tried it for the first time today. If you are completely new to this genre like me, then you too will not understand the gameplay at first glance, and the menus will seem a bit confusing. The game may be a bit complicated for new RPG players like me, but hardcore RPG players can try it. The difficulty of the game is medium, as you have 4 characters in your team.
👍 PROS
Unique blend of styles:
Combat + exploration + factory-building combo is fresh and engaging.
Factory / automation system deep & rewarding:
Strategy lovers find this part quite interesting.
Visuals & optimization:
The graphics feel strong and the optimization on the mobile is quite decent with smooth performance and less heat drain.
Combat feels fluid:
Many reviews have described the combat as smooth and accessible. I'm also impressed.
👎 CONS
Slow start & tutorial overload:
Early gameplay/tutorials can be a bit confusing or boring. I'm also annoyed by this.
Gacha system harsh & grindy:
Currency gains are slow and the pit system may seem predatory or less generous to some players.
Gameplay doesn’t feel excellent in any single area:
Some players feel that combat, factory and exploration don't feel special enough, with no standout system.
Character depth / systems mixed:
Some feedback described the characters and combat systems as simplified and less meaningful.
Launch issues (billing/payment bugs):
The launch payment issues upset players.
⭐ FINAL VERDICT & RATING
The average score of critics is around 79/100 (which is the score for PC). Play Store rating is 3.5, App Store 4 out of 5. But according to my personal experience, I would give this game ⭐ 2.2 out of 5. Game is solid, not perfect, but you can try it – if you like this genre.
